TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether it is acceptable to cross out the bank account number on a bank statement when applying for a Soft Power visa in Thailand. Responses vary, with some users suggesting that altering the document may hinder verification, while others consider it a reasonable security measure. Tips are also shared, such as choosing a statement date to minimize visible transactions.
Anonymer Teilnehmer nope, why should i… my full statement… my bank doesn't show the full account number, only first and last couple of digits… i guess blacking out anything sends the wrong signal at all. send in all the stuff and by this tell them: i want this and i can afford this. if your message is: i don't trust you, than they won't trust you either… i mean you pay times more for a car, and you undisclose much more to your car dealer. if the "price" of secret infos is too high for you, don't apply. you can't be a bit pregnant… either you want it or not. no perhaps, let's see, but idk…
you definitely can, of course it depends on which embassy you're applying at. I crossed out account numbers. They don't need it they just need the first page of the bank statement showing your name and the amount. But again every place is different.
I've received people's private info, passport copies and bank statements, from immigration in Thailand. They reused old papers. When I mentioned it they proudly replied "yes, we recycle!"
i thought about this too. i guess you probably can cover a few numbers. i just left it because im lazy and when i really think about it there is a lot of other security they would have to pass. The number doesn't really allow them to do anything. I think do it though
