How To Apply For COVID-19 Extension In Koh Samui - My Guide

The first thing to be aware of it takes all day to get the extension so go as early as possible, if you go any later than about 9:30am-10:00am you will most likely need to collect your passport with the visa the following day.

To save time as we did is make sure you have all the correct documentation prior to going, print off all the forms and fill them in full, get the photos for the TM7 forms, etc. I have added links for the forms below.

When you get this visa you will be granted 15 days and then in 15 days time you can go back to immigration and they will grant you another 15 days if you cannot still leave the country.

What you need to apply for the COVID-19 Extension:

• An approved letter from your countries specific embassy in Bangkok to state you cannot leave Thailand due to canceled flights.

• Passport With TM6 arrival card.

• x2 Written TM7 Forms, make sure you put your email address and phone number on the first page at the top of the TM7 forms (Not photocopies) - [members only]

• x2 Recent Photos for the TM7 Forms

• x2 Photocopies of your passports bio-data page and x2 photocopies of your current visa (Sign every page).

• x2 Written STM.2 Forms (Not photocopies) - [members only]

• 2000 Baht

Once you have all these go to immigration, they will check your paperwork then give you a queue number to get your paperwork checked again, then after this is done you will be given another number to go upstairs to get the visa, just wait for ages for your number to be called then give them your passport with all the documents, money, etc and wait for them to call your number that they will give you and then your DONE!

Just a side tip, once we got the first number instead of hanging around with loads of people at immigration we just went out to eat etc for almost 3 hours and by the time we got back our number was called, it's up to you if you want to do this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a COVID-19 visa extension in Koh Samui, ensure you have all necessary documents, including a letter from your embassy, specific forms (TM7, STM.2), passport, recent photos, and a fee (confirming the current fee is 1,900 Baht). Arrive early as the process can take all day; waiting at the immigration office may allow you to step out while you wait for your number to be called.

Thanks for your detailed report.

Note that the extension fee should only be 1,900 Thai baht...not the 2,000 you stated.

Remember people this is ONLY for Koh Samui immigration office and your office may do things differently. CHECK WITH YOUR OFFICE to see the requirements.
@Danny ******
maybe post on a Samui f/b group or one of the islands that uses Samui's office as it will help people down there.

Thanx though (y)
