Hi there,

I entered Thailand about 3 weeks ago into BKK on test and go Thai Pass (for 30 days). All good.

Need to extend another 30 or possibly 60 days (dental work appointments). My tourist visa (exemption - being from Australia) will expire around April 18.

I have the screenshot of my TM30 now done online by the condo. Do I just go to Immigration counter K or has it moved?

Will the extension begin from the date my current stamp expires or will begin immediately (in which case I would probably need 60 days)?

How long does it take approximately?

If I go today in the afternoon or tomorrow morning, will I receive it the same day? I'd rather not go twice as it's far away.

Is immigration open during Songkran?

Anything else I need to know?

Thanks for your help!

Answer summary

The user is seeking advice on extending their tourist visa in Thailand for an additional 30 to 60 days due to dental appointments, as their current visa will expire soon. They want to know the process of extending their visa, where to go (Immigration counter K), and whether the extension will start from the expiration date of their current visa or immediately. They also ask about processing times and immigration office hours during the Songkran festival.

Great, thanks Ellie. Does the extension begin on the date it is approved, or is it from the date your current 30 days expires?

Do I need every passport page photocopied once, or just the first page, TM6, and most recent stamped page?

You have to apply for a standard 30days Tourism extension before being able to apply for Covid extension.

You will go to Counter K, at MTT until 12 April, at IT Square Laksi Plaza on 18 April, and after.

It would take as long as it would take on the day and time you apply for, but in Bangkok, it will be issued on spot.

General info for the Tourism extension is here.
