Does anyone know how to apply for an STV (90 days and extendable for 2 X 90 days? I am a UK passport holder currently staying in Taiwan. I hope it is an online process only that has to be done through Thai embassy in UK??

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Special Tourist Visa (STV) as a UK passport holder currently in Taiwan, it appears to involve some key steps based on shared experiences. Firstly, while some users noted prior involvement requiring physical presence at embassies (like in Australia), others reported a smoother process in Taipei, particularly if you possess an ARC (Alien Resident Certificate). Important to note is that the Thai embassy in London has transitioned to an online e-visa system, allowing applicants to receive their visa via email, despite being located abroad. However, you must also complete the ThailandPass process after receiving your visa.

The London embassy have switched to the new e-visa system so everything is online. The fact you are in Taiwan should be irrelevant as they email the visa to you. You’ll still need to use the ThailandPass system once you have your visa. It only went live today and has faced numerous teething problems.

Michael.. I did my stv in March in Taipei.

Provided nothing has changed... It's was easier than most places. YOU MUST HAVE AN ARC. They did not require medical check or background check.. Which made it easier.

Just walk into the office at in Taipei in the morning. Bring you the required documents and 2 passport photos. Visa approved and picked up next day.

I did my STV in Australia earlier in the year, and had to send my passport to the embassy in Canberra..it was quite an involved process, with National Police Check, comprehensive medical../ insurance/ flights, confirmed ASQ booking, accommodation for first 3 months, I doubt whether you can do it online..even with the easing of some restrictions
