I know I'm being lazy by not searching for the answers but bureaucracy seems to change by the minute here, so as you guys have the knowledge & experience here's my question

I'm here in Chiang Mai on a 90 day Non O retirement visa, been here since 1st December, I have the requisite 800K sitting in the bank for way over 6 months. I'll be looking for the multi entry extension. Can this be done online or do I need to go to a government office

When can I apply for the one year extension here in CM, is it 45 or 60 days after entry, can you confirm the documents I require are:

1- bank statement showing the money has been deposited for the desired period of time

2- Residence certificate

3- Passport with the required stamps

4- TM30

5- 3800 Bht payment fee (for multi entry)

6- TM7 application form

Have I missed something?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks information on the one-year extension of stay procedure for a Non-O retirement visa in Chiang Mai, specifically regarding the required documents, application timing (45 or 60 days after entry), and whether the application can be made online. The user has a sufficient bank balance and is aware of some requirements but is unsure about specific documents and steps. Several comments clarify that the user must visit the local immigration office to get the exact requirements, which typically include a bank guarantee letter, an updated bank statement, correct TM30 registration, and forms like TM7. Additionally, the concept of a 'multi-entry extension' is clarified to be incorrect, as one must apply for a one-year extension and then separately obtain a re-entry permit if desired.

“I'm in Chiang Mai on a 90-days Non-Imm-O retirement visa, been here since 1st December, I have 800K sitting in the bank for over 6 months. I'll be looking for the multi entry extension.”

*** there is nothing such as a multi entry extension

You are on a 90-days stay permit. You will apply for the 1-year Extension of the Stay Permit (EOS) based on Retirement.

For this one-year stay permit, you can buy either a single or multiple re-entry permit

“Can this be done online or do I need to go to a government office”

*** you need to visit the local Immigration in order to apply for the 1-year EOS

“When can I apply for the one year extension here in CM, is it 45 or 60 days after entry”

*** In Chiang Mai, Immigration will allow you to apply for the 1-year EOS as soon as 45 days are left on your 90-days stay permit

*** you need copies, signed by you in blue ink, of the following:

*** passport detail page

*** passport page with the entry stamp

*** copy of the .pdf visa document

*** maybe a copy of the TDAC

*** you must be properly TM30 registered at your current accommodation

*** TM7 and STM2 (you get these forms on Immigration)

*** 1900 THB application fee

*** 2 passport size pictures for the application to the multi re-entry permit

*** 3800 THB for the purchase of the multi re-entry permit

*** You will need the “bank letter of guarantee” (rab roong thanakan) which confirms that a minimum of 800,000 THB has been sitting in your Thai bank account for a minimum of 2 months

*** you will need to show an updated on the same day bankbook and an ATM withdrawal receipt of a small withdrawal done the same day

SOME Immigrations might ask for additional documentation, so you better visit them and kindly ask for the handout list

WHERE, on which Immigration would that be asked for? There's no one-year lease or blue house book needed for an application to a 1-year extension of the stay permit. He only needs to be properly TM30 registered at his current accomodation, and show the "bank letter of guarantee" that confirms the 800K have been sitting in his account for 2 months

I am doing annual retirement extensions every year, since 17 years, on the Immigration in Sisaket. I have never (!) been asked for a rental contract. I have a valid TM30 registration in the house that belongs to my girlfriend. 17 years ago, I had to show her blue housebook, and since then I never had to show it again. Different Immigrations, different rules

Residence certificate not required but you will need a guarantee letter from the bank and an updated bank book on the day you go. As others state you should visit and get the handout to ensure everything is ticked off

Yes you’ve missed going to your local immigration office to collect the handout listing the requirements for the extension. Follow the list, gather the documents and apply. Then buy a multiple re entry permit.

Is there such a thing as a "Multi -Entry" extension of stay? I thought re-entry permits were issued separately 🤔

you are correct. They get an extension, then pay for a multi re-entry permit
