How can I apply for a DTV visa using the soft power medical route in Thailand?

Just got approved for soft power medical from Washington DC. Was super simple. Made an appointment at Bangkok Hospital and submitted that email confirmation. They requested a more official letter so I emailed the hospital for an official letter of appointment which they provided within 24 hrs. Another 24 hrs later DTV approved. I definitely recommend the soft power options if your self employed / business owner but providing certain documents is going to be difficult.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user successfully enrolled in the soft power medical visa program through a straightforward process involving an appointment at Bangkok Hospital. After receiving confirmation from the hospital, they requested an official letter, which was provided within 24 hours, leading to a quick approval from DTV. Other commenters shared their experiences with the visa application process, comparing soft power options with digital nomad categories, discussing document requirements, and seeking examples of the necessary hospital letters.

Hi
@Matt ******
. Would you kindly be able to show (with personal information redacted) what the Bangkok Hospital letter provide? Chiang Mai Ram are hesitant on what they need to supply and have asked for an example to pass onto the doctor.

Do you have to show proof of the 500k in your bank account if applying for the soft power?

I tried under the remote worker/digital nomad category, I jump through hoops for three days sent every form document I could possibly think of, I am 100% a digital nomad/remote worker, but I was denied, applied under the soft power category was approved the next day and my wife the following day, I did not have to pay again, the consulate in Vancouver allowed me to switch categories, this is the advantage of E visa compared to in person

I don't understand why you were denied? Anyone with a properly registered company or working for one remotely should be approved.

my company is not registered, it doesn’t have to be, I’m a sole proprietor, I don’t even have to have a business license, all I have to do is submit my income every year to revenue Canada, I provided letters at different times stating all of these facts, two different bank statements, one showing my business activities as a sole proprietor, and one of my personal bank account, both have lots of money, in the end I switched categories to soft power and was approved the next day

I didn’t know you could use the DTV for anything besides remote work. Are you saying that you can sign up for medical services as a substitute for working?

...if you didn't know that you should really read the government's website over random third parties posts online! 😎 Straight from the horse's mouth is always better

yes it seems like that should be a legitimate choice. I have to find the things listed as choices for DTV. I was going to contact the college and ask them what visa but I will definitely check out the DTV.

another benefit of DTV is you can leave and come back easily rather than education visa they don’t want you to leave the country and will most likely question upon reentry and possibly deny you. At least from what I’ve read on these forums.

So did you simply leave all the other sections about work blank because not relevant if soft power?

keep in mind it’s going to differ depending on which consulate you apply with. Some may want more even if it’s not officially required in the rules.
