TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 1-year extension of your visa after your student visa expires in Thailand, you typically need to be enrolled in a university class and graduate with a degree. Extensions are generally not available for private schools or language classes. Upon graduation from higher education, you can apply for an additional yearly extension at the immigration office and may also switch to a NON-B visa if you secure a job.

this is the thai version of the cabinet meeting minutes where they passed that proposal for a year extension on ED students

Sorry don't have the english, ๐Ÿ˜• or the royal gazette print out

says people graduating "higher learning" can apply to stay up to one year, can switch visa type to Non-B inside the country if they get a job

It sounds like you're enrolled in a private school and you have to be enrolled in a university class and graduate with a degree.

It does not work for private schools OR language classes thru universities only for people who get a degree here.

Once you graduate, you can apply for an additional yearly extension at the immigration office
