TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder in Thailand can apply for an Indian visa by going to the Indian Embassy in Bangkok. The application process may require a visit to the embassy and can take about 3 hours for processing. It's important to check with the embassy or VFS Global in Bangkok for specific visa types and application procedures.

CDN here - I was in thailand and went to india - you need to go to the india embassy and present your passport and they will take it and process it - for me was 3 hrs. with a stapled in visa + $$

I would suggest you follow Vernon's advice and get your info from the Embassy.

Did it a few years ago for multiple business trips. Involved a trip to the Indian Embassy on Sukhumvit. Easy enough
