In Bali, traveling to Thailand. Thought I'd apply for a multi-Entry Visa. This is what the Indonesian section of the Thai Gov. website says for people in Bali (and other Indonesian cities):
2. Visa application is not available at the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Denpasar/Surabaya/Medan. Online visa application is also not available and application by mail is not accepted.
I wrote the Thai Embassey in Jakarta; anyone know how a US passport holder gets a visa, prior to arrival, in Thailand? Or, is it expected to be handled on the ground upon arrival?
Thanks for your input! :-)) Happy Easter (which is more powerful than most humans will ever understand). Sincerely, SB Kirkbride, Bali
TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder seeking a multi-entry visa for Thailand while in Bali cannot apply at the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate or any location in Indonesia, as they only issue visas for Thai citizens. The application must be made in person at the Thai Embassy in Jakarta, which is known for its difficulty. Arriving in Thailand without a visa allows a 30-day visa exemption, which can be extended for another 30 days.
