TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges faced by Canadians seeking emergency visa extension letters in Thailand due to COVID-19. Contributors express skepticism about obtaining such letters, especially since flights to Canada remain available. It appears that only specific countries like South Korea, Italy, and China are issuing letters for visa extensions, while other countries including Canada, USA, and UK advise individuals to explore their own options for visa extension or to return home.

AT THIS TIME; The only countries that are confirmed as issuing the request for you to take to immigrations to get the 30 day unable to travel due to covid-19 extension are South Korea, Italy and China.
ALL the other consulates have pretty much stated find your own way to extend your visa OR go back to the country your passport is from.
Canada, USA, UK, Germany, Australia, etc do NOT issue the letter

We sent an email requesting one but haven't gotten a reply as yet, but a couple other people that posted in another group mentioned they both got turned down by the Embassy when they contacted them via phone :(

I highly doubt you would get that letter since flights are still going from Thailand to Canada.
. The OP asked if Canadians were able to get the extension letter from their embassy. I indicated previously that things have been quiet IN THIS GROUP relating to Canada. As there are still flights available from Thailand to Bangkok I suggested to the OP to get out now, rather than try to get an extension. That's advice. Which is what this group is about. It's not about sarcastic trolling. Is that now clear enough for you, or do you want it written in crayon in big letters?
