I believe that golf resorts were also approved for quarantine periods....if I’m going to be in jail, I’d rather be able to play golf while I’m there....does anyone know any more about the golf resorts approvals?
absolutely, it might sound good in theory, but until someone goes there and can verify it, it’s like most things in Thailand, a bit of a mystery...I’m planning on making flight and q bookings next week, so hopefully some more confirmations will emerge then....
you might all be in a quarantine golf resort hotel but they still don’t want people to mingle. All I’m saying is that it’ll most likely be a very expensive hotel and you’d want to make sure 100% that you’ll be able to play golf and if so from which day will you be able. A lot of the hotels have taken away the gym from their package as this was seen to be away of transmission. I’m not sure if that is still the case.
it was part of the discussion that I heard about 3 months ago, that the golf resort, would be exclusively for Covid quarantine people, and you would be able to play golf. Which of course, we all know that three of the best things for humans, is fresh air, sunshine, and exercise.....but that is common sense which during these Covid times, common sense is an old fashioned idea....
This isn’t a joke? I’m about to check - this is some good news for Uk citizens wanting to go back. Any update on special tourist visa eligible for British nationals?
I would not hold my breath e on the STV. My understanding is that in Covid times ED visas are only being granted to University students. I assume, but do not know for sure that it would also apply to someone applying to convert in country. My guess is that there have been way too many people abusing the ED and volunteer visas as an excuse to stay in the country.
yep, I’m an Aus passport, currently in Laos, (and have been since mar 15), I am about to apply for the TR visa, and hope to fly into Bangkok on the next available flight, on the 15 Dec, and will have to do 15 day Q, and while laos has been very good, with no great restrictions like other countries, there are no border runs at this stage. That’s how I got stuck here, but I hope and expect things to change in the next 2-3 months with “vaccines” etc... or I may apply for a retirement visa in Thailand. Good luck
yeah, I thought as much. Perhaps after the 3 months, Uk nationals will be able to transfer onto the STV, or an education visa might be worth a shout as you said. Study is an option
after the extra 30 day extension, is there any way to do a visa run to a neighbouring country and back without quarantine again, or can you renew the tourist visa within country. Any ideas? I was planning on staying longer than 3 months - possibly!

Good news. Now I’m contemplating booking a flight for March or late February. Perhaps quarantine will be reduced to a week or removed by then.
ooohhh ok fingers crossed !!! Because for Australian STV you are no longer required to have 500,000k but for the tourist visa you need to have 500,000 but I’m hoping for the best !
which is 500.000 baht bro ,the sufficient sum is 500.000 baht ,good luck if U only got 200.000 in your bank give it a go and get back to us all on here FB 😁😁🤪
you no longer need to show 500k or being in the bank for a period of time just that you have enough money to cover the time your going to be there which is a 60 day visa
I have forgotten after going through lockdown in Singapore then quarantine the days are blur. Not at my house at moment thats where all my stuff is i made a scrapbook about it. Seemed a pity to throw all the paperwork away.

So what day of the month did you check in and check out? So I can understand
I was flying home today and I was trying to work out the 15 nights thing, as I'm on the flight. I came to the conclusion that It's basically 15 days plus the day of check out? Right? Or am I wrong? I can imagine I'd go further in this during a 15 day quaratnine.
I’d prefer no ASQ but I’m not going to quibble about 10 days or 14 days. I mean, by the time I can get back into Thailand, it’ll be a year since I’ve seen my girlfriend. 4 days isn’t going to make a difference. The elimination of 500,000 baht is huge though!!!
that was quick, but I read 97% of people get symptom s by the 11th day. And I guess you can detect it before, as they say on the 10th day at the latest. Anyways they do your last covid test on the 13th day. But yet you stay 16 days??
Fit to fly is covering theres and your ass. We have to do them quite regularly going offshore to some countries, its more for insurance.

lol I had to block rima the other day, as dense and willfully ignorant as can be.
I don’t think the 500k was so much the problem initially but requiring it going back 6 months, especially given at least in the US just how bad interest rates are this year.
The fit to fly seems a bit absurdly excessive when you already need a negative covid test, unless it’s to serve some other purpose
yes i presume there thinking with the other visa was only taking people from low risk countries but as usual was messed up as they put nationality, which meant say a Singaporean living in the states could apply but an American living in Singapore could not.
They are extremly paranoid as is most of Asia of getting covid in the Country.
I was stuck in Singapore when it hit and basically lockdown and everyone wearing masks and strictly adhering to social distancing until was under control.
We been watching the west with shock how they have handled it.
sorry, yes I also agree with the money requirement. What I found annoying was the discrimination of passport type. If you have the means and the commitment to quarantine then in my opinion that should be enough regardless of your nationality
I can understand them wanting to make sure people have money in case get stuck here (who knows what could happen) but thought there first idea of proving
got to say, it’s their country their rules. My only complaint is that if someone is prepared to quarantine on arrival for two weeks at their own expense, surely that is proof enough they are committed to visiting with good reason regardless of what passport they hold.
It was a valid question as before covid the RTE London never asked to see a bank statement with sufficient funds for a single entry tourist visa.Try using your head before commenting.
You never had to show a bank statement at the RTE London for single entry tourist visa before. The 20,000bt could be asked to be shown at immigration on arrival but I dont know anyone who was asked.
Will Take a Large Chunk of Money to Do This Quarantinee and the Insurances and Tests That Go With it For Sure Im Still Trying to Decide if its Worth it
Yeah I know about budgeting and things, I know how thais can be in pricing things, so wanted to ask if anyone knew if the 2 week quarantine would destroy a budget or if its reasonable but just a pain in the ass.
I Think its a Good Question Ryan As the Answer to Will be Looked at by the RTE Regarding Issuing a Visa Or Not as I'm Sure You Know How Much you Normally Need and Spend When on Holiday
could you just not use your own logic to work out a budget to have your holiday ... it's obviously the reason the thai government have stipulated in the past what you need , albeit way too much ... use your head !!!
