Just an update for anyone from U.K. applying for visas
I usually apply for spouse visa
Non Imm O
They have changed the rules and must supply bank statements that show £1500 per month going in for 3 months
This is more than the average wage for some folk
I spoke to the Thai embassy in London and they said in an email reply that it just needs to show £1500 in savings but the website states different
I definitely don’t have £1500 going in any of my accounts but do have £2000 saved up which I recently put into my bank
So fingers crossed I will get a yes
Otherwise I think I’ll have to wait further and get an ED visa for when I study the TEFL course and sign up to study Thai language local to me in Chiang Rai
What are people’s thoughts on this ?
TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat from the UK shared updates regarding the application process for a Non Imm O visa, highlighting a new requirement for bank statements to show a monthly deposit of £1500 for three months. Confusion arose from differing information between the Thai embassy's email and their website. The individual reported having £2000 in savings instead and noted the hardship this requirement may cause for average wage earners. Other commenters mentioned past experiences with the embassy, varying requirements, the high costs of living in Thailand, and the transition to online applications. Eventually, the expat received confirmation that their visa was accepted, possibly due to demonstrating funds in multiple bank accounts.
