Hi does anyone have any experience of contacting WISE regarding sending of funds to Thailand for visa purposes? I've read of people having problems when applying for non O & OA extensions based on the monthly income route because the Thai bank account statements didn't stipulate correctly where the funds had come from every month. Any advice appreciated. I'm not due to start sending monthly funds until next year but want to get it all sorted in advance. Thanks

If it’s still not coded correctly, even when selecting the correct “reason for transfer”, which has happened to me, there is a process that customer service will give you. I haven’t gone through it yet but may have to soon.

I had one transaction to Bangkok bank not coded as international. I went to Kasikorn (Wise's partner in Thailand, and the bank the transaction came through on the way to Bangkok bank) and got a letter verifying that it was an international transaction.

But immigration never noticed it wasn't coded as international. In the 3 years I've been transferring money in every month, that's only happened once.

And as stated, use the 'funds for long term stay' reason in the drop-down.

so it's just simply select 'funds for long term stay' and that's it. I don't need to start doing it until May 2024.

you need to have one full year of deposits before you can use the income method.

yeah that's fine I'm aware of that. On my first visa now. First extension due next year. I'll start 12 monthly deposits (for the following years extension) the month before I apply for my 1st extension using the 400k.

if you're not aware, start your monthly deposited 13 months before your extension is due, so that you are certain to have 12 deposits showing on your statement. This came up in another post, maybe in another group in the past few days. The Poster had done 12 deposits, but found himself 1 short on his statement when coming to do his extension. I think this might be what you meant when saying.

If you use the 800k for your first extension you'll need to be doing the 65k deposits during that first year not next year

my first extension isn't due until June 2024. Yes I'll start the monthly deposits during that year. Only 400k for me got another 15+ years before I'm on the OA visa. Hopefully things change by then aswell.

ok, you're a OA, remember get stamped in again before it expires and with insurance to get another 12 month stamp (but single entry)

Select the final option in the drop down menu
