Has anyone successfully shown an approved e-Visa on their phone when entering Bangkok?

Hello, has anyone showed copy of approved e-Visa on their phone and was accepted by the IO in Bangkok? I submitted to HCM online Monday, status changed yesterday to "pending processing for approval". I am worried it might not get released/approved by the time I fly to Bangkok (60-day Visa exempt) on Friday.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the acceptance of e-Visa copies shown on mobile devices upon arrival in Bangkok. While some users express concerns about whether an unapproved e-Visa could be displayed, others confirm that an e-Visa can indeed be shown on a phone and should be accepted by Immigration Officers. The urgency of the situation is emphasized due to the user's impending flight without having received approval for their e-Visa.

Yes, your evisa on your phone should be accepted.

you can show the evisa on your phone.

Paper is so smart,

paper weighs nothing,

Paper does not run out of battery,

paper requires no (forgotten) passwords,

Paper does not have auto off after x seconds,

Paper can be easily transferred,

Paper does not require wifi.

And Thai officials love paper.

If you submitted on Monday, why would you have booked a flight back on Friday? That isnโ€™t enough time for your visa to process. Isnโ€™t today a Thai holiday?

yep, today IS indeed a holiday at the embassies (and immigration offices in thailand)

Although HCMC still has the "two working day" processing time posted on their website (which was when they were a walk in consulate not eVisa)

I found this on their webpage

that's the info but they are in fact processing them quicker, in 2-3 days, according to recent approval posts

yes, I would not be upset if the website says 5 days, and others on Facebook got it in 3 days. I would plan accordingly, knowing that there is variability.

if it's not approved by the time you fly in how are you going to "show a copy on your phone" of the PDF file that is the DTV visa

if not yet released by the time I arrived in BKK, can't I enter using my VISA free privilege? I am just taking a chance that they release it soon however I am okay if they release it close to my intended entry date that I put in my application which is January 6, 2025 - less than the suggested 3-month application rule since I am leaving BKK anyways in December and when I come back in January, I will use the DTV visa by then.

you won't have any issue stamping into thailand visa exempt comin' back from HCMC (unless you have extensive entry/stay history when they could question you)

I got it just now 11:27pm. Strange the email was sent this latte in the day. Are they working overtime?

Anonymous participant congrats (y) glad you got it, PRINT it out as that PDF is your visa ๐Ÿ™‚ just hand it and your passport to the officer when you go to stamp in

i have it printed by the hotel staff. I am being silly here to experiment to present both the printed copy and the copy on my phone to see if the IO will accept the phone copy. I will decide tomorrow whether to do it or not.

Anonymous participant make sure you check your passport for the stamp in it BEFORE you walk away from passport control so you know you got stamped in on the right visa category and for the right time
