TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion indicates that travelers, especially those with long-term visas like the DTV, are rarely asked for a departure ticket upon arrival at Bangkok airports. Most experiences shared highlight that it is mainly airlines that might request proof of onward travel, rather than immigration officials. Some users note occasional requests by airlines, while others affirm they've never been asked. New digital arrival cards may include ongoing flight information, but personal experiences with this requirement are still scarce.
I believe the new digital arrival card asks for an ongoing flight but I don’t know anyone personally that has done that yet. Would be keen to know if anyone has done this yet.
Been asked by airlines afew times and I just say I’m happy to take that risk that they might refuse me. They just go on and say it might be very expensive blah blah never been a issue.
Never been asked for a departure ticket in 30 years by immigration on arrival on many different visa types. Seems to be some of the airlines on boarding. Having said that I think I was asked once in 2017 by an airline.
I think the only time I can remember being asked by an airline was from Danang in December 2017. I showed a Singapore Employment Pass and said I was on the way there. Air Asia staff accepted it?????
