I’ve read some conflicting information on the need to have proof of onward ticket when entering on the DTV. To me it doesn’t really make sense to request this on a visa allowing to stay 180 days but I like to ere on the side of caution and always plan for the worst. In the unlikely situation of being asked for an onward ticket would a bus to Cambodia suffice or is a plane ticket better? (if so why is that)
Thanks!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for proof of an onward ticket when entering Thailand on a DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) is not commonly enforced, as most users have not been asked for it upon entry. The DTV visa, which allows for a stay of up to 180 days, typically does not require an onward ticket. However, there are anecdotal instances where airlines have insisted on seeing an onward ticket to allow boarding, regardless of visa type. Some travelers suggest that carrying a cancellable ticket could be a prudent backup, even though it's generally not necessary for visa holders.
