Does the point of arrival affect a tourist visa for Thailand if plans change?

I’m currently working on the tourist visa application and have a few quick questions.

The application asks for your point of arrival in Thailand and the hotel where you’ll be staying.

We plan to fly to Phuket via the Middle East (Dubai or Doha) and stay at a hotel there for the first four days; after that, we’ll be touring around and seeing how the trip unfolds.

Here is my question:

If the situation in the Middle East becomes unstable, we might consider flying directly to Bangkok instead. Would that affect the visa, given that I stated I would be landing in Phuket via the Middle East?

Or is the visa valid for entry into Thailand regardless of the point of arrival?
