TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), you must apply from outside Thailand, specifically through a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country or whichever country you are currently residing in. It is not possible to apply for the DTV while physically present in Thailand.
Don't listen to these people just show up at the airport and they will give you one. Tell the immigration officer that you want to do their job and ask how to apply. Be sure and speak as many different languages as you know words from. That will really impress them.
you are wrong as well ππ The correct wording would be like: "You can apply for a DTV through the E-Visa online system of a Thai embassy or Thai consulate in any country outside of Thailand" . . . . . . . you said, "apply through consulate of any country" and that's oh so wrong, because "consulates of any country" could be consulates of any country - and not necessarily be Thai consulates π
No, I am not wrong, but your knowledge is outdated. Your visa sticker? That was before all Thai embassies and consulates worldwide that still allowed physical applications, turned to the online E-Visa system in January 2025. You don't get a sticker any more. You can't even access the buildings any more, except in a few cases where you have to pay the application fee in cash at the embassy or consulate, or in case you are invited for an interview (which can happen to some applicants for the DTV)

In Thailand is the place you CANNOT get the DTV. You must apply for DTV from a Thai embassy online through the e-visa system. You will use the embassy that serves the area where you physically are.
Because they require proof of your location. If a country that isn't your own, then you must show the entry stamp in your passport, and they often follow-up requesting proof of your hotel reservation, or a letter from the hotel manager, and sometimes they will require you to come in for an interview.
Don't know, but if they do it then it's fraudulent as it does not meet the requirements. And they are free to cancel the visa application without refund if they find out.
