Does my boyfriend need proof of address when applying for an ED visa in Thailand?
Hello! My bf will be enrolling at Siam Tech university soon and will be applying for an ED visa. We have been hearing and reading conflicting stories about proof of address and hoping somebody here has some experience with this. He is planning to apply for the visa in Laos. Will he need proof of address when applying for the actual visa or only need proof when extending the visa at immigration in BKK? Thanks!
Answer summary
When applying for an ED visa at a Thai Consulate, there is no need for proof of address. However, proof of accommodation will be required when extending the visa at immigration in Bangkok.

both you and other students have said that but now am being told by student advisor at the uni that he does need it which is a problem because he will still be based in Phuket for a few months until his classes start in February.Activity
