TLDR : Answer Summary
The question seeks clarification on whether Chaengwattana Immigration allows a 40K baht monthly deposit from a foreign account as proof of financial stability for the Spouse Visa extension, instead of the traditional 400K baht in Thai bank savings. Some comments suggest that this method may not be accepted unless the applicant is legally employed in Thailand, and advise checking directly with the immigration office for specific guidance.

Do you come from a country whose embassy here either stopped issuing the affidavit of income from abroad notary document or never issued it to begin with?

AND

Have you been transferring in a minimum of 40K baht a month each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your yearly extension? <- meaning you're already ON a yearly extension and are wanting to get one based on monthly income rather than banked money

More and more offices do not allow the 40K baht a month income method unless you legally work in thailand. Now I'm not saying C/W is one of those offices, I'm just telling you that it seems that offices are not wanting to accept that type of proof of funds any longer

About all you can do is go out to Chaengwattana and ask in Section L1 (the section for extension based on retirement/marriage). Sorry I do not know the answer
