Hi, I will have had my retirement visa a year when I have to renew it. One option for funds in my Thai account is 64000 baht per month I think. I am just wondering if I take some of that money out then put it back in the next month this should count towards my next months 64000 baht? Would I be right in saying this. Thanks in advance of any helpful advice 🙏
Answer summary
The individual is inquiring if withdrawing and subsequently depositing money in their Thai bank account could be counted towards the required monthly income of 65,000 baht for their retirement visa renewal. The community clarified that the funds must be verified as having originated from overseas and that merely recycling funds would not satisfy immigration's requirements. For visa extensions, consistent financial documentation is essential to prove eligibility.

You can never renew any visa, the visa is used when you enter Thailand, i suppose you had a O-A since it give you 1 year permit to stay, just remember to stay current with the insurance demands and it gives you another year permit in Thailand if you enter before the 1 year limit. Most of us living here apply for a yearly temporary stay on TM 7 ( wich is not a visa) , the financial demands is same for both, but on a O-A your assets can stay in your home country

Ole Kristoffersen the visa I have is a multi entry non o. It doesn’t have any insurance demands.

Craig Gibson the non-O visa is used when you enter Thailand. It sounds really pedantic to say Craig, but when you extend your stay in Thailand it is no longer a visa, it's an extension of stay based on retirement. A lot of people call it a visa, but it confuses people giving advice, as Ole said the 1 year visa is a non-OA and requires insurance + police checks. I presume you arrived on a non-O, extended your stay for 12 months and got multiple re-entry permit?

I’m told you need your Thai bank to provide a document as proof of the 800k or more.

The 65k or more per month, bank verification for 12 consecutive months.

The 800k is the easiest to verify for the bank.

I have a Thai wife … so my marriage visa only requires 400k … I transfer into that account $2300 per mth = around 74k baht per mth and then I withdraw 70k every month and we put that in a separate account for my wife who pays all our bills every mth and grocery & gas etc… we avg about 65k per mth … but at the end of the year I have a book bank book that shows 400k and 12 deposits of 70k+ and 12 withdrawals of 70k to satisfy immigration 👍

Why not just pay an agent? I see many advertisements for
*****
baht and they fulfill the financial requirement

Highly likely you’ll need to provide evidence of where the 65,000+ baht per month in passive income is coming from. This could include pension statements, bank statements showing regular pension payments, or documentation of rental income, such as letting agent statements and the corresponding remittances into your bank account.

As John said it is a minimum of 65,000 baht per month from overseas. You are allowed to spend the money on living expenses, but you can't just send it back home and recycle it.

Stuart Chiverton thanks, it was just in case I didn’t spend all my monthly budget, some months I will spend more and some less. Cheers

Craig Gibson how much you spend has absolutely nothing to do with bt65,000+ being direct deposited into your personal Thai bank account. You can spend it all the day it arrives in your Thai bank account, or spend none of it. It does not matter. The only thing that matters is that bt65,000 minimum is direct deposited into your account regularly every month for 12 months

Thanks. I’m planning on having that much as my budget.

There are 2 options

1. You have 800k baht in a Thai bank account for 2 months before you apply, keep it there for 3 months after you get the extension and never go below 400k baht at any point in the year

2. You transfer into your thai bank account a minimum of 65k baht each month for the 12 months immediately prior to applying for the extension. This 65k baht must come from overseas. I don't think it would take immigration long to work out if you were recycling the money and ask for proof of it's origins.
