TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about their non-ED visa, which is set to expire on July 6th, in the context of a reported automatic extension until July 30th. Community members clarified that if they hold an original ED visa without any extension of stay, no action is required as they will automatically transition into amnesty. However, for those on an extension based on student status, a cancellation of classes and a letter from their school would be necessary to properly exit their visa.

There's one of two options you need to do, based on what an "ED Visa" actually is:

1. IF this is an original ED visa ("The sticker"), and you have NOT received any extension of stay, there is nothing you need to do. Let your visa expire, and you'd go on amnesty automatically.

2. IF you are on an extension of stay based on being a student ("The stamp"), you need to cancel your classes, and take a letter from your school saying you are no longer a student. Your ED visa will be cancelled, and you will go on the visa amnesty.

The visa amnesty DOES NOT let you stay until July 30th, it lets you stay NO LATER THEN July 30th. Keep watching websites like this for information on what you should do.

Are you on your original ED visa, or an extension of stay based on being a student?
