Do you need to show a proof of residency (TM30) when you enter Thailand on a NON B visa (3 months) with WP (1 year). Last time I did this they only ask if I had a hotel reservation which I didn't have and flight ticket out of Thailand which I don't have and the "famous" 20K which I did have.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a NON B visa, travelers are typically expected to provide proof of funds (20,000 baht), proof of onward travel, and proof of accommodation. While the TM30 form, which relates to residency reporting, is usually filed after entry, questions regarding proof of residency may arise. Travelers have reported varying experiences with enforcement of these requirements, suggesting that while technically necessary, they are rarely requested for valid long-term visas and work permits.

they're gonna wanna see the cash for sure. That's about it, Face it you're not the only foreigner slogging back into thailand after getting a Non-B in penang ;)

I'd have a copy of your lease on your phone or with you which should satisfy the proof of lodging.

ANYONE can be asked for the 3-proof-ofs

proof of 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH

proof of onward travel within the days you'll be stamped in for

proof of a hotel booking or confirmed lodging.

Failure to provide them if asked can result in your being denied entry (no matter what type of visa you're on) :O

BUT

With that being said people are rarely asked for any of those things when entering on valid Non-immigrant type visas OR long term extensions.

umm you file a TM30 AFTER you get here, the old one is no good at all.

That is what I thought, but I asked just to be sure with this stricter law enforcement.
