Do you need to file a TM30 for in-country travel at Chaeng Watthana Immigration Office in Bangkok?

Todd's recent response on TM30 suggests different immigration offices have different policies with respect to the need to file a TM30 for in-country travel. Does Chaeng Watthana (BKK Province) enforce TM30 reporting requirements for in-country travel? I would much prefer to file a TM30 only when I get a new TM6.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 filing requirements for in-country travel at Chaeng Watthana Immigration Office appear to be inconsistent, with different sources providing varying information. Some reports suggest that TM30 submissions are not necessary for in-country travels, while others state that they are obligatory. Users have shared their experiences with both app-based and postal submission methods for TM30 filings. Given these discrepancies, it's recommended to confirm the requirements directly with the immigration office to avoid penalties.

. If the app is not convenient, you can do what I've done the last three times, through the post. It takes 10 mins at your post office to send the TM30 plus copies of your lease, TM6, passport data, passport stamp and visa. The copies cost me 2 baht each, and the cost of postage and a return envelope was 72 baht. Sure beats the shit out of spending a day at CW with associated travel costs

Earlier this month my landlord went to CW to file a TM30 after I returned from the US. I asked her to ask CW if I (we) needed to file a TM30 for in-country travel. She did ask and reported to me that the IO told her that no I did not need to file a TM30 for in country travel. In fact I had two in country trips in August for which I did not file a TM30. When she filed my recent TM30 in October there was no mention of those August trips. It's possible they didn't check my travel record. I'm well aware that Tod and others have said the CW does want a TM30 for in-country travel.

My landlord did sign up for the app. It wasn't working for her so she went to CW in person for my TM30 and while there they supposedly helped her get her app working.

I am inclined to believe that I need to file a TM30 for in-country travel but this is an example of getting different answers depending on who does the asking and who you talk to at Immigration.

My plan is make sure I have a proper TM30 prior to any extension application. My current extension is good to November 2020. I will not file a TM30 for in-country travel and see what happens with my landlord doing the filing in person or with the app. Eventually we will probably get hit with a fine and we will have learned something new.

Thanks. My landlord has the app- just didn't want to trouble her if I did not need to.

With that ap you can file a Tm30 in just a few minutes. Trouble her ;)

They do :( They said you are obligated to file a new TM30 even for in country travel when you get back to your address.

I suggest signing up for the online TM30 program (especially if you travel a lot) .

I see a call or visit to the Petchabun Immigration office in your near future to get that answer :/

There are more than 70 immigration offices and each one does it their way.

. What documents should I bring for walk in TM 30 at Phetchabun immigration?

If they don’t today and start tomorrow, you’ll find out for it soon enough. Happened to me here in Chumphon. After 4 years of not doing it, all of the sudden the late penalty fee arrived. Doing it on-Line is quite fast and easy if your wife speaks and reads Thai.

good point- consistency of policy is not a key strength here.
