Hi all. I have a question that i believe you guys can help me to answer. I am a university student from Vietnam, currently studying in Thailand. I had been out of Thailand for the summer and literally lived under the rock, having just little knowledge of the TM30.
As i reached Bangkok today, I approached my landlord asking him to assist me in filling out the TM30 form. My landlord then told me the policemen had come to the condo and told him that students living close to the university (including me) didn't need to do the TM30. Then my landlord told me not to be worried since students living close to the school like me don't have to do the TM30. He is a sincere guy but may i ask if there are any possibilities that what he said might be wrong, since the law is enforced already. Will the policemen fine me even if they said so to the landlord. Thank you everyone!
TLDR : Answer Summary
A university student from Vietnam, returning to Thailand, inquired whether TM30 filing is necessary for students living near their university. Their landlord assured them that it was not required but the student is skeptical about this information and concerned about potential fines.
