Non o student visa, I'm on my initial three months and just got all necessary documents from the university to do my first extension of stay. My initial 90 days end mid december. I sent my tm30 (that i had to fill out myself because my landlord wouldn't do it although it is their responsibility) by post to chaeng wattana (i stay in bangkok). I didn't get a confirmation yet for successfully filing the form but i read it could take a while (it's been a minth now). Should i verify the success of filing tm30 by going to the immigration myself before doing the extension of stay and when would you advise to do the extension of stay? Thanks in advance, have a nice day everyone!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about verifying their TM30 submission status and the timing for extending their Non-O Student visa, having recently mailed the TM30 form without receiving confirmation. Comments provided advice on verifying receipt by visiting immigration and clarified the timing for applying for the extension.

I'd say IF you can confirm that it was delivered and signed for on xx date, go out to MTT and ask in section B if they have your TM30 receipt. It's about all you can do. I'd do it BEFORE you go out to apply for your extension (just so you can make sure you DO have a TM30 filed.)

My question to you is how did you manage to get a 90 day Non-ED visa issued in Bangkok without a TM30? That's usually a requirement by section C-1 <- the people who issue all Non-Immigrant type visas in Bangkok.

ugh... Okay now i feel bad. Of course what you say makes totally sense now, although i asked beforehand i didn't know that I'd get/need a notification receipt. I never filed tm30 before. My visa is issued outside the country.

Okay, then what I'd say is FIRST check the EMS tracking (if you sent it EMS tracked) and make sure it was delivered. THEN go out there and see if they have your receipt laying around. BUT I would also take copies of EVERYTHING you sent them too (just in case you have to file a NEW TM30 on your own right then). Sorry about the mix up with where you got the ED visa, I didn't think anyone was getting IN to the country on ED visas right now..

nevermind. Thanks a lot for the advice. Are there any penalties or inconveniences for late tm30 ? Also I'm thinking about moving yo another apartment that would actually do the tm30 like they're supposed to.

In bangkok
@Hen****
they charge you 800 baht for not filing a TM30 on time.

i can live with that, i just hope it won't affect my application for extension of stay. Thanks a lot again for the quick and helpful advice😊

@Hen****
So lets' get this straight you filled out a TM30 application form, you made the relevant copies of your passport, visa, lease, etc (documents you'd need to file a TM30) and you mailed it EMS (which doesn't send you a receipt back but is something you can track online with the number to see when it was delivered)

BUT

you never bothered to put a self addressed stamped envelope in the packet so they could send you the receipt back? :O

Not to be disparaging but what is wrong with this picture?? :/

and lets confirm that you sent it to the correct address here in Bangkok too

Notification of Residence TM.30

Immigration Office Division 1

Chalermprakiat Government Complex

120 Moo 3 Chaengwattana Road Soi 7

Thungsonghong, Laksi Bangkok

First off go into the "track and trace" program on the thai post website enter the EMS tracking number and find out if it was delivered and when,

IF you mailed in your TM30 application (and you included a stamped self addressed envelope) you just need wait for the receipt to come back to you.

You can apply for an extension in Bangkok when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.

thanks a lot, i didn't include a stamped self adressed envelope but i sent by registered mail so the recepient has to sign the reception of the letter. Unfortunately that didn't seem to work as i didn't get a notification from the post office. Should i take the same documents and go to chaeng wattana myself?
