TLDR : Answer Summary
As of now, Thai citizens returning from the UK must undergo a 15-day quarantine upon arrival in Thailand. This is applicable to both Thai nationals and foreigners. Thai citizens may be able to utilize state quarantine centers for free, while foreigners are required to stay at Alternative State Quarantine facilities at a cost starting from about 30,000 THB per person.

AS OF RIGHT NOW, yes, when you return to Thailand, you must go through a 15 day quarantine. This applies for both Thais and foreigners. For Thais, this can be free at a State Quarantine center. Foreigners must use Alternative State Quarantine centers, which start at about 30K THB per person.

I could do the free quarantine with them, I am a naturalized Thai.
it also depends on age of kids, they may not be allowed to do quarantine on there own as a minor and if quarantine is still in place they may need to join you in an ASQ and not the free state quarantine. You would need someone to check the regulations for minors
Remember, a person does get what they pay for, and a lot of Thais do sign up for Alternative State Quarantine. I read a news article yesterday that a State Quarantine center didn't have air conditioning or running water :O
But sometimes you are lucky... the H2DO in Bangkok is also a "State Quarantine Facility", nothing to complain about it... nice room, good food, fast internet, many tv channels, balcony, and, and, and...
