Friends! Quick questions: if I do a visa exemption in Mae Sai, will they give me 15 or 30 days? (I'm Mexican) also if I pay in advance the 7 days overstay (1900 baht) but I overstay 1 more day (due to my flight dates) will they charge me 500 baht or more? Thank you, kha! ❤

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post raises questions about the visa exemption duration for Mexican nationals at Mae Sai and the potential charges for overstaying a visa. Responses indicate that Mexican nationals are generally not eligible for a 30-day visa exemption and typically receive 15 days or must obtain a visa on arrival. Furthermore, there are concerns about overstaying and proper cancellation of any existing extensions before exiting Thailand.

Just curious

How did that border bounce work out today?

I did find this number and don't know if it's the actual border crossing at Mae Sai - Tachiliek or not

05-316-6005.. have someone call BEFORE you slog all the way there thinking you can bounce out and back AND definitely cancel that extension BEFORE you try it (if you can bounce) because they won't stamp you out at Mae Sai with an ED extension that is not canceled by the immigration office before you show up there..

just so you know, seeing as you're on an extension of stay based on studying (at โรงเรียนจุดประกายภาษา ปาย) you need to cancel that extension at the immigration office with documents from the school before you try to exit the country by land.

Some borders won't even let you stamp out at all if you don't cancel your current extension. Just letting it run out doesn't cancel it officially..

Also you're not able to pay in advance for an overstay :/

I was told so in immigration office yesterday.

I do not think a mexican passport holder can bounce out and back at Mae Sai - Tachiliek for a 15 day visa on arrival..

On a Mexican passport, you can not do a visa exempt, but only a visa on arrival. What is your current extension of stay?

unless I'm wrong mexican nationals cannot get 30 day visa exempt entries and are from a country that needs to buy a visa to get in to thialand from a thai consulate before you come here OR you get a 15 day visa on arrival when you enter..
