Can an Australian on Visa Exempt, still do a Mae Sai border run (first land crossing) to get another 30 days IF THEY HAVE OVERSTAYED 10 DAYS?

Can they get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht after paying the fine at immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian citizen on a Visa Exempt status who has overstayed their visa by 10 days may face challenges when attempting a Mae Sai border run to obtain another 30 days. It is important to clarify the specific visa type in question when considering extensions and fines at immigration, as these factors can influence the ability to successfully extend stay or re-enter the country.

Yes, he pays 500 Thb a day overstay and the 30 day Extension will be added to his Admitted to stay Date. This means with 10 days overstay 5000 Thb fine, 1900 Thb for Extension fees and able to stay another 20 days.
