Hi, I am planning to stay at Thailand for 45 days holding a Malaysian passport.

Follow the law Malaysian passport can enter Thailand visa free for no more than 30 days, hence I am required to apply a tourist visa for staying 45 days.

But recently I saw an announcement on Thailand have chabge their visa policy for some countries to stay in Thailand not more than 60 days instead of 30 days. The policy start on 15th Jul 2024.

Is this true? Should I apply the visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Starting from July 15, 2024, Malaysian passport holders are eligible for a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand, which means they do not need to apply for a tourist visa for stays up to 60 days. This change allows Malaysians to stay longer than the previously allowed 30 days.
