Have LTR visa 10 year.

They attached this in my passport.

Is it correct I have to travel from Phuket where I live, back to Bangkok, to get the TM30 approved again, Visa agent said I do , I was told by friend it could be done here in Phuket!

So confused, anyone else on LTR first year, that have done it locally , without going back to Bangkok?

Seems a bit extreme to back to Bangkok, and if it is the case, do I pre book an appointment with them?

Thank you. 🙏
Answer summary
The individual has an LTR visa for ten years but is confused about the necessity of traveling from Phuket to Bangkok to get TM30 approval for their annual report. Some community members confirm that while they were told TM30-related matters might require traveling to Bangkok, others have successfully completed these procedures at local Phuket immigration. The general consensus suggests checking with Phuket immigration directly for clarity, as regulations may vary for LTR visa holders. Additionally, using an agent may allow for the process to be handled in Bangkok if needed.

BOI visa issues are handled by BOI only. If you actually stay one year (not many will) then you do have to go to BKK offices.

I would make an appt just in case. It should be quite a painless process there. But don’t wear shorts…

All the requirements are on the LTR website regarding the 1-year report. You can have an agent do it for you; but it must be done in BKK.

Note: A TM.30 is not a required document. I was in and out within 5 mins. All I filled out was the TM.95, showed my passport, and the officer gave me another year.

You can do TM95 in Phuket town.

If needed, you may present the official Immigration Bureau announcement for clarification:

The standard of English translation is appalling, how does anyone make sense from that string of words. The only clear part is the promise of a fine for not complying with the attached gibberish.

From my understanding, TM30 is normally handled by the local immigration office responsible for your place of residence, so if you're living in Phuket I'd be surprised if a simple TM30-related matter required a trip back to Bangkok.

That said, LTR visa holders sometimes have different procedures compared to regular visa holders, which may be why your agent mentioned Bangkok.

I'd probably contact Phuket Immigration directly and ask whether they can process it locally before booking flights.

Hopefully someone here with an LTR visa in Phuket can share their actual experience.

LTR Visa holders staying in Thailand for a period longer than 1 year consecutively are required to report the current address to the Immigration Bureau at Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC), 6th Floor, PARADE Zone, One Bangkok Building,Bangkok either in person, or by authorizing someone to report for you on your behalf. This report must be done on a yearly basis counting from LTR Visa issuance date (15 days before or 7 days after the date specified on 1-year report notification card). However, in the case of re-entering the Kingdom, the report will be due in 1 year from the date of the latest arrival.

The documents required to be submitted to the immigration are as follows.

TM.95 Form (completely filled out and signed)

Passport *

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) for those arriving in Thailand after May 1st, 2025

or

T.M.6 card for those who entered Thailand before July 1st, 2022 or those who entered through a land border checkpoint and were issued T.M.6 card (If any) *

Note: The paper form T.M.6 card has now been replaced by the electronic Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

1-Year report notification card (if any) *

TM.61 Form (For authorized person reporting at the Immigration Bureau at Thailand Investment and Expat Services Center (TIESC), 6th Floor, PARADE Zone, One Bangkok Building,Bangkok on behalf of LTR visa holder who lives in Bangkok)

In short: leave Thailand at least once a year, or get an agent to do it for you in Bangkok. It doesn't have to be you who does it.

Seems like you declared an address in Bangkok to get your Tm 30,which means your official address in Thailand is the address written on Tm30. If you are going to live in Phuket ,rent a condo for a year get your contract and declare to immigration in Phuket.

Since your official Thailand address( Tm30) is in Phuket now,you can go to Phuket immigration for any case.

A TM30 you do at the place you live, not at a random other place. What would be the sense of that? The sticker in your passport is not about a TM30. It is a report for staying longer than a year. If there are any rules that this can be only done in BKK, I am not aware about that. As someone mentioned, this seems to be the 'extended 90 days report' (as a lack for a better name) - as LTR visa holder you do not need to do 90 day reports, but a "once a year report". This form is called TM47 - something completely different than a TM30.

And that TM47 you should be able to do at the immigration office at your home address, no need to travel to BKK. When you are at the IO, then ask how to do it online.

Only the first one needs to be done in person, the follow ups usually can be done online. As you have an LTR, and only do it once a year, you might need to confirm that you can do the next one online or per mail.

Good luck! Again: you are a doing a TM47 not not a TM30 .... but you will need a TM30 to make the TM47. A TM 30 you should have since day *one* of your stay!!

EDIT: Jim Ramsey below clarifies that the one year report in case of an LTR visa requires a TM95 form - not the same as TM47.
Jim ********
Jim ********
Angelo Schneider TM47 is not a document for the LTR. It’s a TM95 to report your address for the LTR 1-yr report.
Angelo ***********
Angelo ***********
Jim Ramsey Good point. The TM47 is for 90 days reporting. I assumed it is the same for the one year reporting.

My understanding is that as long as you leave Thailand within the year the date resets and in effect you can get by from reporting for 5 years when the next five years are granted

I arrived on a LTR August 2025 and popped into Roi Et immigration the next day to do the TM30. They gave me a receipt and report back 1 year later. I have stayed in Thailand since and am next planning to go to KL in September. I will pop into Roi Et immigration to clarify before August. Nothing currently saying report to BKK just come back in a year

Yet another thing not thought through by authorities. I would check if said reporting can be done online. If not, it should at least be possible by mail - just like the regular 90 day report. Having said that and on a slightly different note: Who doesn’t at least go on a trip to leave the country / or at least a trip to Bangkok once a year - especially when having enough funds (like LTR holders)?

This is what most people think of as a 90 day report which for LTR visa holders is actually a 12 month report. I didn't realise you could only file at that single office though, might be worth contacting the BOI to double check on that

that's pretty crazy a requirement, considering everyone else can file them within a minute online every 90 days after the first in-person one. I don't suppose going ahead and filing online 90 day reports throughout the year would be a possible way around this.

Seahorseoutofwater🤭 I had a BOI work permit and also needed to go to BKK every time as the other provinces are not handling those matters. I think the 10 year Visa also runs through that scheme
