Do I need to submit another TM47 report if I travel to Vietnam before my 90 days are up?

Hello! I have a DTV visa question

On the 3rd (tomorrow) I’m traveling to Vietnam to reset the visa for another 180 days. However, every 90 days a report must be submitted, which is the TM47. I already submitted that report 90 days ago in person, and from now on it’s supposed to be possible to submit it online.

My question is: since I’m going to Vietnam now, do I need to submit another TM47 report? It has already been 90 days since the last report. I checked with ChatGPT and it says it’s not necessary, that simply leaving the country resets the visa and that the next TM47 report should be submitted 90 days after my return.

I’d like to confirm this with someone who really knows, please! Sometimes ChatGPT gets things wrong 😅 Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the necessity of submitting a TM47 report given that they are leaving Thailand for Vietnam to reset their DTV visa. They have already submitted a TM47 report 90 days ago, and some users clarify that leaving the country resets the 90-day counting period, meaning a new report is not needed until after their return. However, there are notes that if the user returns before the 90-day deadline from their last report, they may need to file another report in person.

Note that when you leave and return your next 90 day report will have to be made in person again

You count 89 days from your entry stamp and that’s when the first 90 day report is due. Because you can technically file 14 days early your next 90 day report may be due before you leave to reset your 180 day entry stamp. It’s due 90 days from filing your last one.

If due you can file online. If you leave before day 90 then don’t worry. Leave and the “clock” resets to day 1 on your arrival back.

90 consecutive days in the country. If you leave, you're no longer in the country and on re-entry you count again.
