TLDR : Answer Summary
When arriving in Thailand with a Tourist Visa (TR), it's generally the airline's ground staff who may require proof of a return flight or onward travel. Thai immigration typically does not ask for this proof upon entry, but if there are suspicions, they may inquire. It's advisable to check with your airline beforehand as policies can vary.

It depends on the airline. It's them who ask. Thai immigration don't, normally. However, you need to show return or onward travel to get your TR60 visa.

It depends on the immigration, if they suspect you they will ask. If not, you’re good to go
