Do I need a return flight scheduled to show as evidence when I enter Thailand on visa exempt entry?
Answer summary
When entering Thailand under visa-exempt entry, it is commonly reported that showing proof of a return flight might be necessary, as various travelers have experienced differing requirements depending on their specific situations and locations. While some participants mentioned they were not asked for a return flight during their application, others expressed that having documented evidence, like a flight or accommodation booking, can help avoid complications at the immigration desk. Overall, travelers are advised to check the latest requirements and possibly have a return flight itinerary ready.

here is the reason: you should have it notarised, not self translated. "proof of freelance status in italy (original and self translated, plus instructions on how to check status online from official government website)"
Freelance status should be certified translate, did u have from your job statements that you can work remotely and will work only for italy costumers ? Stamps and signature ? Your work contracts? Can i ask why people not apply in their home country embassy ? Wouldnt be easier for you ? I recently apply in prague and what i heard its hard one but i didnt have any problems .. but wish u luck next time !
No idea what went wrong ?? Did you have a rental lease in Thailand for at least 6 months ? It’s a firm requirement and it is enforced more and more strictly.
Extract of official website :
“5. Proof of prolonged residence in Thailand for at least 6 months, such as a condominium rental agreement, lease agreement etc.”
It sounds like you did not include a written letter by your business stating that you can work remotely in Thailand. That letter is required. If this letter is not included in the package they do not ask for it. They just reject.
Anonymous participant normally you need a letter that gives permission to explicitly work remotely from Thailand and stating that you won't work with any Thai entities or clients inside Thailand.
there is no company, i am self employed and i provided my official freelance registration certificate + a cover letter signed by me where i state i work remotely and have no thai clients
Anonymous participant A letter from the owner of the company. If that is you then a letter from you and signed by you, designating that (your full name as printed in your passport) is allowed to work remotely
Anonymous participant 180 I don’t think this is necessary, my boyfriend got his DTV (Workation) 3 months ish ago, he didn’t even have anything booked since we didn’t know if his visa application would get approved or not.
Anonymous participant 180 this requirement is absurd being that it would be silly to sign an agreement before being approved. I get it though you have to play the game to get approved
