If I enter thailand on a STV visa....

Do I need to of come on a plane from the country that issued it?

I.e could i enter thailand from vietnam on an STV issued from UK?

No, a Visa is a Visa. Once you have it the only thing left is entering Thailand (and meeting the entry and Thailand Pass requirements).
