As my wife and I will be entering Thailand twice I paid for multiple entry visas on 13th October. My wife's visa is pending approval but my visa hasnt changed status since 13th October. Its still pending document check.

We fly on 28th October so i must admit im getting anxious though it seems there are people in a worse situation than me.

I cant get to speak to anyone for an update. The Liverpool consulate only deals with people in Liverpool. There's no response from any other consulate.

I am hoping that, if we go to Thailand but dont have the visas, then we'll get given 30 days on arrival. But I dont know this for a fact.

Also, we go out of Thailand and then come back in again later, still within the 30 days. This is why I paid for multiple entry visas. But if we dont have those visas, what would happen when we reenter Thailand ?

If anyone out there is an expert on all this I would love to hear from you.
Answer summary
The user expresses concern over the pending status of their multiple entry visa application, which has not changed since October 13th, while their flight to Thailand is scheduled for October 28th. They seek advice on what to expect regarding visa issuance and entry into Thailand, particularly whether they will receive the standard 30-day arrival allowance if their visa is not approved in time. Community responses suggest that travelers often receive 30 days on arrival without a visa and can potentially re-enter Thailand for another 30 days after a short exit, even while waiting for visa decisions.

Yep, you're not meant to, but if push comes to shove, go anyway. Many people have had their visas approved while having entered Thailand. But in saying that, it technically does give them a reason to deny the application.

You will get 30 days on arrival and if you leave the country within those 30 days ie do a border crossing you will get another 30 days when you return

OP
Kevin Fletcher me too. Its probably too late now. Got flights, hotels, onward flights excursions and so on all booked. Got visas for New Zealand on the day I submitted my application. Got visas for Bali a day after I submitted my application. I had a query with the Indonesian visas, called the embassy and spoke to someone straight away. Sent a follow up email and that got answered straight away.

Still, you've been waiting considerably longer than me. So all I can say is I hope your visas turn up soon. Good luck !

There is still a week remaining so it's best to wait and see. Your visas might both get approved one day before your flight.

Ian Ludlow Not a bad idea to prepare for Plan B then - the visa exempt option which you guys will need to be prepared to show substative petty cash per person, hotel booking with both your names and outgoing tickets for when you leave Thailand.

If you enter on visa exempt ( no visa) for 30 days you can extend by 30 days. If you leave and return a few weeks later you "should" get 30 days with no visa when you enter.

Ian Ludlow your airline might ask for proof of leaving within the 30 days so check this out, a train ticket to leave could be accepted by the airline. You don't need to use it.

There are no consulates when it comes to visa applications. They are all handled by London. That's who you need to contact. But they seem to be backed up lately.

I only tried consulates as a last resort.
