Do I need to report to immigration in Chiang Mai after returning to Thailand with a Non O Visa if my address hasn't changed?

Hi guys, I hold a Non O Visa (Retirement). Recently I left Thailand and returned after few days. My house address hasn’t changed (Chiang Mai). So I have asked the officer at the Immigration at Suwanaphurni airport whether I have, or not, to report to the Chiang Mai immigration within 24 hours from my re-entry. His answer was quite clear: no if your address didn’t change. The only obbligation is the usual 90 days report. Now I’m a bit confused because a Chiang Mai immigration officer a couple of weeks ago, to the same question, answered with a yes, I have to report when I come back to Thailand even if with same address. Any suggestion? Thanks

Two different immigration officers provided conflicting answers; one stated no report is needed while the other insisted a report is mandatory.
