Do I need to provide tax returns when applying for a visa in London if I haven't filed yet?

Can anyone who applied successfully in London tell me if they asked for tax returns as additional information? I only started freelancing recently so haven't had to file taxes yet and I'm worried. Thank you 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about whether tax returns are required for their visa application in London, especially since they are a new freelancer and haven't filed taxes yet. Responses indicate that while some applicants have been asked for tax returns, it is also acceptable to explain the lack of a tax return if one hasn't been filed yet. Individual experiences vary, suggesting that requirements may differ based on personal circumstances.

I am a director of my own company so as well as providing the certificate of incorporation they asked me to provide my self assessment tax return.

Once I did that it was all processed and completed within 3 days.

You have not filed a tax return yet due to being a freelance newbie which is a perfectly acceptable answer to a tax return request.
