Should I hire an agent for my move to Thailand or can I do it myself?

Is it best to have an Agent to ensure you have everything together while planning a move to Thailand in the next 2 yrs. I have visited a few times and loved it.

I see some do it themselves and I've heard horrible stories.....of things they didnt do right or forgot to do.

I can understand trying to avoid the cost of an agent, but it "might" seem worth it.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether hiring an agent for moving to Thailand is worthwhile or if handling the immigration process personally is feasible. Many expats have shared positive experiences with agents, citing time savings and reduced stress, while others advocate for a self-service approach, emphasizing simplicity if one is organized and does thorough research. Ultimately, the decision depends on individual circumstances, comfort with bureaucracy, visa complexity, and personal preferences.
