Do I need to provide my current address and phone number to extend my visa exemption in Thailand?

On my way to extend my visa exemption for 30 days, down in Krabi. I have read something about needing to provide the address and phone number of where I'm staying currently. We're house-sitting for a friend; should they have 'registered' us like in Vietnam? I don't want to get them in trouble - can I just give a hotel we stayed at when we first arrived, or just the hotel next door, maybe? Does anyone check?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When extending your visa exemption in Krabi, you may need to provide the address and phone number of where you're currently staying. Hotels typically register guests within 24 hours, and if you are house-sitting and not registered, you could face issues. Some users indicate that using an old hotel address worked for them, while others suggest that registration is necessary. There seems to be some variability in how strictly immigration checks for this detail.

Interesting... so I just showed the lady the pin on Google maps as "unamed road" etc

She looked a little puzzled but took it away and filled the form in anyway. Looked like they picked a random hostel in town instead 😅

at least not this time. Whether it was a misunderstanding or deliberate on their part, they seemed content in the end.

a nice level of pragmatism shown by the immigration office there ;)

Your first hotel should have done the reporting and if no one else did a TM30, you’re technically still registered to the hotel.

My friend had to show his Rental agreement.

I remember once I just wrote down I stay at "No Name Resort & Spa". Had no problems...

They should have registered you within 24 hours after arriving at the address. Hotels do this online, just random picking a hotel does not work if you are not registered by that hotel. I do not know if Krabi Immigration is asking for this address registration for the Extension of Stay on Visa Exemptions.
