Question: my wife got her Non O based on being a trailing spouse. When she goes in to get the one year extension, do I need to again get the bank letter confirming funds, or is just the updated passbook sufficient for her immigration visit?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of providing a bank letter when applying for your wife's Non O one-year extension as a trailing spouse depends on the specific immigration office requirements. Itβs advisable to check with the local immigration office to confirm whether an updated passbook is sufficient or if a bank letter is required again, as requirements can vary by location.

Just curious did your wife get the trailing spouse based on you holding a retirement visa/extension in country at an immigration office or outside thailand at a thai consulate in another country?
(y) great, just wanted to know if it was in or out of the country as only Phuket is rumored to issue Non-O's based on trailing spouse to people on retirement visa/extensions π Thanx

That is between you and the immigration office you use to get her the extension (which has to be the same one you got your extension at if you're on an extension)
I'd go to them well ahead of the time you want to apply for her trailing spouse extension and get the hand out listing the requirements, marriage certificate, etc and ask them at that time if YOU need to show the proof of funds again or not
Thanks. I probably will just pay the 100 baht to get the letter. I've never ever had problems with Immigration during any of my 15 years here, mostly because I think I come in there with every i dotted and t crossed. Seems like that is the trick (I use CW as my office).
there is a whole set of documents you need to have her pull a trailing spouse extension (and it's got almost nothing to do with what she showed to get the visa issued in the Philippines)
I certainly wouldn't just show up and think it's gonna fly without doing a re-con and getting the hand out listing the requirements.
You might get there and NOT have what they require and then be scrambling around trying to round up the documents. It's far from a wasted trip finding out exactly what she needs π
