I,m going to apply for a family non o visa,do I have to leave Thailand after 90 days or can I just go to my local Immigration office for another 30 days?

A 30 day extension is a tourist extension. Since you will not be arriving as a tourist, you are not able to apply for a 30-day extension.

If you come on a non-O visa based on family (marriage, half Thai child), you can only apply for a 60-day "visiting Thai Family" extension one time, or you would apply for the 1-year extension based on whatever reason the visa was issued for.

I've already done one entry to Thailand this year and I,ll be doing another one when we come over in September would zI be able to do another entry in December???

If you are talking about all as a tourist, the number of entries doesn't matter much. It's more about how much time you've spent in Thailand. People start to have issues around 150 days.

But if you are entering with a non-O visa, then you won't have any issues.

I have been led to believe if I came on a non o family visa I get 90 days and then an extension to 12 months of which I only want to stay for the extra month. I can then go back to Australia and come back on the same visa if I get a re entry permit from my local immigration office.

You cannot come back on the same visa, because the visa is used the moment you enter Thailand with it. Once you apply for the extension, you no longer have a visa. If you apply for the extension and receive it, then apply for a re-entry permit, you can re-enter Thailand on your extension (not your visa).

You do know you need 400k baht in thai account if non o due to marriage or 800k baht if single in a Thai bank account to get the 12 month extension ?

Wayne Roberts Yes that was the one.I,ve had a couple before but it's changed again. I came on the 60 day tourist visa with a 60 day extension the last 2 times
