TLDR : Answer Summary
For the over 50 Thai retirement visa, funds totaling 800,000 Thai baht must be transferred to a Thai bank account in the applicant's name via international transfer. A relative can indeed send this money, provided it is sent internationally. While the current regulations do not explicitly require the funds to come from abroad for extensions, ensuring the transfer is shown as international may benefit the application process.

ALL banked money 800K baht in a thai bank account in your name only
ALL monthly income where you transfer in from abroad to a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 65K baht a month each month every month for the previous 12 months
A combination of banked money and monthly income that totals 800K baht for the year (12 monthly transfers and the banked money amount)
Thatโs what Tod just said. And, as he also said, it doesnโt always work. Thereโs another Facebook group dedicated to issues with Wise and Thailand.
that is between you, wise and the receiving bank. IF you use Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Thai, or Siam Commercial Bank, AND you select funds for long term stay there is a good chance it will code as an international transfer, BUT even doing that sometimes it codes as a domestic transfer and that will run you off the rails.
When you apply for an in-country Non-O visa based on retirement, yes, your funds of 800k have to be transferred internationally as James explain above.
When you apply for a 1-year extension based on being over 50, there is no written requirement of international transfer in police order.

Yes the 800,000 Thai baht must be sent to a Thai bank account in your name only...by way of international transfer and must show as an international transfer to your account. The source of the funds is not asked...so Yes a relative can send it as long as it's an international transfer to your Thai bank account.
monthly or One lump sum by international transfer to your Thai bank account in your name only. AND remember that there are required amounts on deposit to be met during the year.
Are the 800K must be new money? I am asking because I had remitted funds from overseas into Thailand years ago to buy condos, and now I have sold one of them and the proceeds sit into my Thai bank account. I have all the proof of these transactions. I tend to give up my non OA when it expires and shift to apply for a non O here in Thailand. Will they accept my funds already existing in my Thai bank account? Or do I have to remit another fresh 800K into the account?
You should ask your immigration office if they will accept that.

To clarify you can NOT go from Non-OA to Non-O inside Thailand. You must leave Thailand and return (on tourist visa as example) and then apply for Non-O inside Thailand or apply inside your own country for Non-O before you return.
