Can I withdraw the 800k from my Thai bank account after getting my Non O visa extension?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I've just applied for a one year extension to my Non O visa - retirement. Picking up passport tomorrow 👍 this is based on the 800k in thai bank. Next year I will change to the 65k+ pm method which I started making the required international transfers for several months ago. I know that the 800k is supposed to remain in the bank untouched for 3 months. My question is this. Once the visa is issued for this year can I withdraw the 800k as I will be switching to monthly transfers for next years application?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user questions whether they can withdraw the 800,000 baht required for their Non-O visa extension after their visa is issued. Responses clarify that they must maintain at least 400,000 baht in their account for the rest of the extension period. They can withdraw half of the amount after three months, but must uphold the requirement of having 800,000 baht for that period. Next year's application will require evidence of monthly international transfers of at least 65,000 baht, which can be spent as long as it shows in their account.

Also depends on what country you are from. From what I've read online there are certain countries US, England, AUS, maybe others that the embassy refuses to give the required documents for its citizens to be able to use the income method. Why they refuse, no idea, although I've asked... gotta be some justification, other than they just stopped doing it!

use an agent mate they can sort all that paperwork for you but I'm led to believe that once you use an agent you need to keep using them each time I think the fist time using agent costs in region of 25,000 baht could be more for first year then same each and every year

to answer your question of why those countries refuse is that Thailand now requires them to certify that the monthly income is true, and they don't do that, and never have. All those countries ever did was notarize your signature on a document stating your monthly income. They did not, and would not, verify if what you said on the document was true. They only notarized your signature that you personally signed the document. Thailand no longer allows that, because too many people lie.

the reason why many embassies stopped is Thailand requested that the income verification letters not just be notarized but that the information be verified. Many embassies decided to discontinue as a result.

at least for Social Security, that's a no brainer for a govt department to verify, private company pensions quite another. they should at least verify Social Security. For US all that needed is sign a consent form, granting them to check, nothing more.

with THB 65,000 deposited monthly from overseas for 12 consecutive months, there is no need for an embassy letter. I think you are mixing up the options.

No you can't. You must honour the terms of this coming extension as well as honouring the terms of the extension you will apply for next year. That means you must maintain 800k baht in your bank for 3 months after you get the extension and a minimum of 400k baht for the remainder of the year of that extension. For next year you need a minimum of 65k baht each and every month before you apply, transferred from overseas, for the extension, but the good news is you can spend that as it shows in your account

Not exactly. After the 3 months you can withdraw half. You must keep 400,000 in the account until you receive your next extension. One of the requirements of your current extension is that you never let you account drop below 400,000 baht, so when you apply for the extension next year they will look for that in your bank statement.
