TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the necessity of returning to Chiang Mai on January 19th for a COVID visa extension, as they are unsure whether they need to apply on that specific date or before the end of January. Comments clarify that the 60-day COVID extension must be applied for by January 29th, and the earliest possible application could have been after January 14th.

The SOONEST you can apply for a new 60 day covid extension would have been any time after the 14th of Jan (because Chiang Mai allows people to apply for new extensions when they have 45 days or less left on their current one)

I think there might be some "lost in translation" going on. :/

The rule that allows 60 day covid extension expires on the 29th of Jan, <- meaning you would have to apply on or by that date to get another one (at this time)

There's no down side to going on the 19th seeing as they add the extension to your current expiration date. OR wait and go closer to the end of the month, that's fine too
