Hi everyone,

I entered Bangkok by flight from Malaysia on 13th July and my passport was stamped with 11 Aug and 30 days.

With the introduction of the new 60 days visa free exemption, does anyone know:

- If I want to extend my stay beyond 11 Aug but under 60 days, do I need to go to the immigration to extend it?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about extending their stay in Thailand given their entry stamp on July 13 and the new 60-day visa exemption for certain nationals. Responses confirmed that since they entered before the new exemption took effect, they would need to apply for a 30-day tourist extension at immigration and pay a fee of 1900 BHT.

You have to go to the immigration office to apply for 30 days tourism extension (if your ntionality is eligible for visa-exempt entry). As you entered before the starting date of 60 days visa-exempt, your entry is not eligible for 60 days.
