Will be staying 55days can i do extension 30day or fly vietnam couple days
Answer summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand for an additional 30 days after already being there for 55 days. Comments suggest that they can either apply for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office or obtain a single-entry tourist visa for a total of 60 days in Thailand. Some advise against border hopping to Vietnam as it may be scrutinized by authorities, and it’s recommended to get a proper visa or extension to avoid complications.

I have applied for a 60 day visa . I allowed plenty of time for approval . Should it not arrive before departure I will book a bus ticket to Lao online ($6) to prove onward travel should the airline or immigration require it.
John Runaghan Most carriers are now asking for an outbound ticket if your return flight is later than the original time you can stay (without extension)
MotivatedFrog4797 like i said only 2 if you end 60 day visa. You cannot spend more than 180 days in the kingdom on a tourist visa or visa exemption with extensions
MotivatedFrog4797 The maximum 2 border runs par year only count for land border runs The extensions are not limited in time but you can mostly only get 1 extension par vist, from the moment that you reach 150 days staying in a year you will be probably picked by immigration to ask what is your purpose to stay, he will probably limit your stay or refuse you to enter. If you want to stay longer than 180 days in a year in Thailand than you need one of the requested visas and you also will be taxable on your income by Thailand (check the double taxation agreement of your country in combination with Thailand)
If your passport entitles you to enter visa exempt then you can apply for a 30 day extension at the local immigration office that serves the area where you will stay
You can do either one. If you fly to Vietnam and come back you’ll get 30 more days when you arrive. If you have not been to Thailand this year yet then I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine.
MotivatedFrog4797 you’re fine if the last time you were Thailand in 2025. I have had 4 entries into Thailand before but stayed less than 60 days combined.
