Do I need to show a return ticket when entering Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa if I'm eligible for visa exemption?

Hi guys, question might sound silly but I have a good reason.

I only plan on staying in Thailand for one week, and I am eligible for visa exemption too.

If I get a 60day tourist visa (I have my reasons) will do IO ask to see return ticket? And if they do, then I show return ticket for one week after arrival will it cause any problems? (ie you're eligible for visa exemption, why do you want to enter on 60day tourisr visa?)

Again, I know it sounds silly, but I need that visa for a reason.

Any input would be much appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether a return ticket is necessary when entering Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa, given their eligibility for visa exemption and a plan to stay only one week. Comments suggest that while it is likely not an issue to show a return ticket within the 60-day allowance, the final decision rests with the immigration officer. It is emphasized that both visa types require the traveler to demonstrate intentions of leaving Thailand within the respective timeframe, typically by providing an onward ticket.

I needed a ticket out to be issued with a tourist visa.

It is always the immigration officer in front of you, that decides if you can enter Thailand, and a 60 day visa isn’t a guarantee to get in, if having overstayed or othervice having a bad immigration history.

Both visa excempt and 60 day touristvisa, you need a onward ticket inside the period

When entering Thailand the Immigration (officer) and the tourist maka a mutual agreement about how long time the tourist is staying in Thailand, and the tourist have to show his good intensions of leaving Thailand within the agreed time, by having a onward tisket within that timeframe.

No issue having a return/onward within the 60 days allowed.

Very much doubt they’ll ask anyway unless you have extensive history of entries previously.
