Do me and my son have to go in person? Or can my partner and his employer take our passports and cancel them on our behalf?

I’ve heard both from different people. 

We leave June 24th and his employer seems to think we’ll be ok to cancel tomorrow in advance? Is this correct?

Does anyone know if I need to go to immigration to cancel my non o (dependent of a foreigner) visa before we leave the country? 

My partner needs to go to immigration tomorrow to cancel his visa for when we leave at the end of this month but no one seems to know if me and my son need to cancel ours or if they will be canceled automatically as they are connected to his visa. 

(We have multiple reentry visas)

Then you do NOT have a multiple re-entry visa :/

What you have is a yearly extension of stay based on being married to someone who has a long term extension and work permit here ;) 　

There is no reason you shouldn't go with them and cancel the current extensions you and your child are on, then all leave the country together.

That way everything was done by the book and IF you come back there will be no problems at all down the road. :)
