Hello everyone!
My work visa expires on March 21st so I will be leaving the country from Bangkok on March 15th before coming back to Phuket a week later. I have already received my Thailand Pass (the real one). I intend to stay for 40 days to complete my lease. I am an American citizen (I do also hold a Canadian passport).
Will I need to apply for a tourist visa? Or is the Thailand pass sufficient to cover my stay?
Additionally, will I be let back into the country as a tourist after living here for 1.5 years on a work visa?
Thank you in advance very much for your insight!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their ability to stay in Thailand after their work visa expires. They received advice that the Thailand Pass is unrelated to visa requirements. They can stay for 30 days without a visa upon entry and can extend for another 30 days. However, it's recommended to be prepared with funds, a flight out of Thailand, and proof of accommodation, as questions may arise due to their prior long-term work visa.
